Coinciding with the 2nd SHIELD* Project Meeting that took place in the I-Box centra offices on 19th and 20th June, at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Valencia, Spain) a multiplier event (ME) of the SHIELD project was also cellebrated. The session, entitled as the project and organized by I-Box, had particip from the training and learning sectors, as well as researhers focused on the offshore sector. Particip could enjoy as well talks given by the project’s partners where it was highlighted the current situation of Health&Safety policies and regulation of the Offshore sector in Romany, The Netherlands, Cyprus, Portugal and Spain.
In the session, also particpated researchers from the projects MAESTRALE -Sustainable Blue Energy in the Mediterranean and PELAGOS, both projects funded by the EU program INTERREG-MED.
PELAGOS’ aim is to establish a permanent Cluster of national HUBs in the Blue Energy  sector and  the MAESTRALE Project aims to lay the foundations for a strategy for the deployment of maritime energy in the Mediterranean area.
 
*SHIELD project aims the “Development of a VET Training Program to upgrade the Skills on Health and Safety Risks for Offshore Construction Workers” . The project is carried out by 5 partners: I -Box Create (Spain), SHIPCON (Cyprus), Acta Center (Romania), PRIME (Holland) and PREVIFORM (Portugal). This a EU funded project with a total of € 165,420 from the ERASMUS + program, with a duration of 24 months. It aims to be a pioneer for companies, especially in the Mediterranean Arc, where national regulations are less strict than in the northern countries.
