The project supports youth professionals (youth workers, youth trainers, youth leaders and mentors of youth volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps – ETUC) to ensure the social inclusion of all young people. The changing nature of European society demands a high level of social skills; a prerequisite for inclusion. This is true for all countries, regardless of the stage of development of their economies and affects both people who work with young people and their target group, young people.
It is desired to address the need of young professionals for continuous professional development with a focus on competencies to support the development of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and social skills of young people with low school performance, early school leaving and / or NINIs.
Objective
The project aims to promote the development of Emotional Intelligence (EI) in young people with low school performance, early school leaving and / or NEETs through Youth Work. To achieve this goal, partners will first work on skills development of young professionals (young workers, youth trainers, mentors of ETUC volunteers).
Therefore, the project aims to:
- Increase the skills of Youth Workers and update their methodologies to better support young people with fewer opportunities to improve their Emotional Intelligence, including interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, adaptability, stress management and general attitude.
- Help young people with low school performance, early school leaving and / or NEETs to develop basic and transversal cognitive skills, and especially emotional and social skills, using innovative approaches. These skills are increasingly important for educational performance and employability.
- Provide youth organizations with a structured training program that improves self-awareness and self-control of personal emotions.
- Increase the impact of youth work by creating an open European electronic platform for best practices and raising awareness of EI at European level through innovative content.
